Tom Schuett, President/CEO
Tom Schuett is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Schuett Companies, Inc. and the Chief Manager of CompassionCare Services, LLC. Tom has over 25 years of experience in real estate development. He started his career in public accounting in Seattle, Washington with Ernst & Whinney. He is a non-practicing CPA licensed in the state of Washington where he earned his license in 1989. He is a graduate of Western Washington University. He has a degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration.
Tom's areas of expertise include affordable housing development utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits, land development, multifamily development, affordable home health, and real estate finance and syndication.
In 2011, Tom started CompassionCare Services, LLC. CompassionCare is a home health agency providing services to elderly and disabled residents. CompassionCare is a leader in developing service delivery models and providing resident services in the affordable housing arena.
Alicia Witherspoon, VP of Finance
Alicia Witherspoon is the Vice President of Finance for The Schuett Companies and CompassionCare. Alicia has over 13 years of experience in real estate finance and accounting. Alicia began her career in accounting with The Schuett Companies in 2000 and became Controller in 2005.
Alicia's areas of expertise include Yardi Voyager property management software, Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code (Low Income Housing Tax Credits), financial statement preparation, MHFA operating reports, the Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS) and Enterprise Income Verification (EIV). Alicia is also a Certified Housing Manager.
Alicia worked with Tom Schuett in 2011 to help build CompassionCare. She is well acquainted with the rules and regulations governing home health agencies and is an expert in Medicaid reimbursements for seniors and disabled individuals in the state of Minnesota.
Stacy Grosse, Regional Housing Manager
As Regional Housing Manager, Stacy Grosse supervises the management of 10 properties, totaling 587 units. Her expertise covers a variety of affordable housing programs including Section 42, HUD Section 8, and HOME. Stacy focuses on keeping open lines of communication with her team, residents and vendors in order to maximize employee morale, resident retention, collections, and minimize expenses. Her hands-on management approach gives her the ability to more effectively oversee daily operations of the properties.
Stacy has 18 years of experience in property management, with the past 15 being in affordable housing. She plays a significant role in the day to day operations of her portfolio, including compliance, financials, training, and marketing. Stacy is also responsible for preparing annual budgets and capital expenditures, performing and attending regular property inspections, evaluating service contracts, and the renewal of HAP contracts and rent increases.
Stacy successfully completed the Certified Assisted Housing Manager Program Specializing in Section 8 from Quadel. Stacy received the Excellence in Customer Service Award in 2010. She remains active in her community volunteering for various organizations.
Patti Peppel, Director of Nursing
Patti Peppel was born and raised in Massachusetts on a small family farm. She has lived in Minnesota since 2003. She has 4 children, all boys, ranging in age from 25 to 7. Patti graduated from Emmanuel College, Boston, MA in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Music, with a concentration and certification in “Music Therapy”. Patti was employed as a music Therapist until 1997 in a long term care/rehabilitation setting, as well as a state school for the developmentally and mentally disabled. Her time was also spent in a school setting in special education with children and young adults.
In 1995, Patti obtained her nursing License from Springfield Technical Community College, a well-known and respected institution in the area of nursing education. After getting her RN she worked in a rehabilitation and long-term care setting, staying in that setting until 2000, when she began working as an RN in a family practice clinic. In 2003 Patti moved to Minnesota and continued working in a family practice setting. In 2006 Patti began working in the home health and housing with services fields and has been working in that field since.
Patti’s years as a music therapis, a clinic nurse, a home health nurse and drector of a home health agency have prepared her well for her role as the ctor of Nursing for CompassionCare. Patti looks forward to helping bring CompassionCare to the forefront as a caring, reliable, reputable home care agency.
